We build each other up.

Our community is made up of writers, editors, journalists, authors, agents, publishers, and publicists. We all need deadlines and readers who are eager to dive into our first, second, and twentieth drafts. This is the essential truth of any writing workshop: Writers need other writers to keep them accountable, and that’s what we do.

“Laura Zinn Fromm’s Writing Our Stories seminar is where I learned about writing personal essay[s] and memoir[s]. Laura’s reading assignments, guided class discussion, and insightful comments on writing submissions opened my eyes to story structure and helped me to clarify my own voice in writing.”

Nora Wong, Loving My Son After His Death (The New York Times)

“I've been taking classes with Laura since 2020. Laura is a compassionate and effective teacher who gives useful feedback and who builds a strong classroom community. I took her class "The Writing Ranch" in the summer of 2025. I had had The Artist's Way on my bookshelf for several years but had never opened it. This class provided the impetus I needed to read and put it to use in advancing my writing practice. Every day since the first day of class, I have written daily morning pages (a key tenet of the book), the first time I have kept a daily journal. I  have found other aspects of the book useful in my writing as well. I highly recommend the class.”

Kate L. on The Writing Ranch

Laura’s exploration of The Artist’s Way is inspiring. Her efforts to enrich the class with outside sources as well as her careful editing of our contributions are thoughtful, intelligent, and full of humility. Writing and sharing work takes courage. Laura’s courses always create an atmosphere of challenge and of safety. I highly recommend The Artist’s Way!
